Won't Be Silent
I was told my eyes,
Would be opened at the sight,
Of a nation that is bound to this disease.
I'd seen their faces on my screen,
And said I'm grateful that's not me,
And turned off my TV.
Look at all the people now, so different but the same.
Now a hush falls over the crowd,
Not a sound comes out of the mouth,
Of a people gathered around to hear good news.
Now they spill out into the town,
Once hopelessly lost, now finally found,
Clinging to a new hope found only in You.
They won't be silent, they won't be silent.
The difference in this place,
Is persecution they will face,
Their children's lives at stake where worship is a crime.
But I know that they will fight,
I saw the fire in their eyes,
When they came to hear Your name for the first time.
Look at all the people now, so different but the same.
Now a hush falls over the crowd,
Not a sound comes out of the mouth,
Of a people gathered around to hear good news.
Now they spill out into the town,
Once hopelessly lost, now finally found,
Clinging to a new hope found only in You.
They won't be silent.
Their fervor tugs at my soul,
For so long I've held to the world,
And these fantasies I've long since tired of.
Lord, shower me with Your grace,
Give me strength as I try to change,
Rediscover You, my first love, yeah.
Now a hush falls over the crowd,
Not a sound comes out of the mouth,
Of a people gathered around to hear good news.
Now they spill out into the town,
Once hopelessly lost, now finally found,
Clinging to a new hope found only in You.
I won't be silent.

Hope Has Not Flown Away
Why did you go to the bar, and crash your car, and forget it all in the end?
Where did your morals go, while the poison flows, have I lost a valuable friend?
Your meaning has ebbed away as the air turns gray, choking out all that we had,
You forgot all that was, and it's all because the good now looks like the bad.
You've taken the winner's stance with a victory dance as you strike hidden defeat,
How could you be so blind, watch your life unwind? Each sip becomes bittersweet,
Your emotions have disappeared, now you have no fear, so you run right into the lies,
Darkness consumes your way through the night and day when you don't open your eyes,
Darkness consumes your way through the night and day when you don't open your eyes.
Hope has not flown away, it remains today, and that will never change,
The Maker has left His mark, placed a smoldering spark, given you a secret name.
Hope has not flown away, it remains today, and that will never change,
The Maker has left His mark, placed a smoldering spark in your heart, a burning flame, a burning flame.
Open your eyes, He calls your name,
Open your eyes, don't keep the light at bay.
Open your eyes, He calls your name,
Open your eyes, don't keep the light at bay.

Trust
Oh, to contemplate trust, for the mending heart, it's so hard, hard to regain,
And if my broken honesty was enough, then why are you still relishing in bringing up the past again?
The ice between us melted into water under the bridge.
But I can never let my guard down, I can't be that naive,
If you fool me twice, then shame on me,
And the morning brings a new day, but I remember when,
The walls came down, and who's to say it won't happen again?
I may have trouble moving on long after the pain, the pain subsides,
And I can only guess the things you must be feeling, 'cause you still hold them all inside.
The ice between us melted into water under the bridge.
But I can never let my guard down, I can't be that naive,
If you fool me twice, then shame on me,
And the morning brings a new day, but I remember when,
The walls came down, and who's to say it won't happen again?
And I've been running through my mind,
All the ways to justify,
Forgetting all we had, and leaving in the past,
All the time we can't get back.
The ice between us melted into water under the bridge.
But I can never let my guard down, I can't be that naive,
If you fool me twice, then shame on me,
And the morning brings a new day, but I remember when,
The walls came down, and who's to say it won't happen again?
It won't happen again.

On The Inside
Maybe I'm wrong, but what is a man,
If he can't say what's in his soul, and do what he can,
To prevent a life from caving in for just one girl?
And if everyone would follow suit, imagine that world.
But I'm told to smile and shrug it off.
When on the inside, I'm dying,
On the inside, this is tearing me apart,
I don't want to wade through this without fighting,
Watch her give away her heart.
Maybe I'm way off base, but just hear me out,
Because you still have the time to learn what love's all about,
I've felt happiness and solitude, I take them in turn,
I've seen bridges built to stand the storm, then watched them all burn,
Don't want to see you make that same mistake.
When on the inside, I'm dying,
On the inside, this is tearing me apart,
I don't want to wade through this without fighting,
Watch her give away her heart.
And I know there's a voice that keeps playing in your mind,
And it's screaming, "It's no good mixing darkness with the light."
Open your eyes.
On the inside, I'm dying,
On the inside, this is tearing me apart,
I don't want to wade through this without fighting,
Watch her give away her heart.
On the inside, I'm dying,
On the inside, this is tearing me apart,
I don't want to wade through this without fighting,
I'm not gonna wait through your denying,
While you give away your heart.

Lost Son
Too many times, my mind is busy, my mind's so busy, I ignore You,
Too many times, I've turned my back on, turned my back on the simple truth,
Too many times, I lose all sensation, and then in frustration, I miss the clue,
That I need your life, no longer complacent, no, never complacent, my heart's renewed.
Too many times, my heart's so weary, I cannot see clearly, so I fall away,
Too many times, I begin to wander, my heart grows fonder of the wider way,
Too many times, I'm broken but stubborn, and I just cannot learn that I need to pray,
To the God who brings back the lost son by giving His own Son to provide the way.
And I, I, I'm coming home, and I, I, I'm coming home.
Too many times, I'm sickly and tired, I feel uninspired, so I just give in,
But maybe this time, the answer lies closer, maybe it's closer than it's ever been,
Now it is time to bring back the lost son, yes, I am the lost son, wrapped in ties of sin,
I die to myself, let this life go, now with the truth known, I begin to live.
And I, I, I'm coming home, and I, I, I'm coming home.
Now it is time to serve my Savior, change my behavior, turn my life around,
Now it is time to remove the false mask, search out my new task, raise a joyful sound,
Now it is time to abandon the worthless and discover His purpose, 'til the lost are found,
I'll trust in my God, I'll rest in His saving grace, awaiting His holy place, let His joy abound.
And I, I, I'm coming home, and I, I, I'm coming home, and I, I, I'm coming home.
